I'm safe and sound in Copenhagen, and finally over my jet lag. I spent most of the first week adjusting to living in a new city - moving into my host family's house, filling out visa paperwork, and attending orientation events sponsored by DIS. Over the weekend my hosts took us (myself and my roommate) on a tour of some of the sites on Sealand. It was windy and cold, but still beautiful.
Fredricksborg Castle - Used in the 19th Century by several Kings, now a museum

A small model of Kronborg Castle and the surrounding buildings. Kronborg guards the entrance to the Black Sea and was built to exact a tax from merchant ships entering those waters. It's in the small village of Helsingor - Elsinore in English. And yes, that Elsinore, the one in Hamlet.
The Grand Ballroom of Kronborg Castle

The bridge over the second moat surrounding Kronborg

The Queen's Guard marching through the streets. I'm not quite sure why, but it seems to be a fairly regular thing. I asked around, and it wasn't a holiday.
